What is Neck Pain?
Neck pain is pain felt in the back of the neck – the upper spine area, just below the head. Neck pain affects many people and can lead to many serious conditions. Due to the delicate anatomy of the neck (cervical spine), it is often left unprotected and subject to injury. According to the Mayo Clinic, “Rarely, neck pain can be a symptom of a more serious problem. Seek medical care if your neck pain is accompanied by numbness or loss of strength in your arms or hands or if you have shooting pain into your shoulder or down your arm.
What are causes of Neck Pain?
The Function of the neck is to support the weight of the head and protect the nerves that carry sensory and motor information from the brain down to the rest of the body. In addition, the neck is highly flexible and allows the head to turn and flex in all directions. Because of this, the neck is subject to lots of stress such as muscle strain, Injury and health disorders.
