Ergonomic Assessment
Ergonomic Assessment and Repetitive Strain
Ergonomic assessment is part of the questioning process when pain is around lower back, wrist and shoulder. It is possible that repetitive strain is caused by improper work place set up. If the therapist believes this to be true with a patient, then proper education will be given to help decrease further risk of injuries. A unique and complete physical examination is given to align each patients individual needs. The purpose of assessing the work place is to determine which adjustments can be made to reduce repetitive stress and decrease the chance of injury. Over time, these repetitive strains can lead to serious injury or even disability. Prevention of these injuries also helps reduce the financial burden of missed time from work and possible worker compensation expenses for the employer.
